Ongoing Opportunities
Opportunities
United Faith Community believes in continuing the work of Jesus Christ, especially for those less fortunate than ourselves. We do this in many different ways and at many different levels. Like the world around us, these opportunities change constantly. We don’t expect everyone to participate in everything we sponsor, so we try to have a variety of projects. Take a look at some of our past efforts and we invite you to join us for any future activities. We are also always looking for more ways to help in the community so reach out to us and share your ideas too.
Financial Support – Many of our mission projects do have some costs associated with them, as well as day-to-day expenses like rent, lights, and heat. UFC depends on the financial contributions of our members and friends for funding. We receive NO on-going outside support.
Walking Club & Coffee Break – A time of active fellowship with the women of our congregation and the broader community. Topped off with some coffee and goodies before the Saturday morning Buffalo’s Occasional Shopping weekend starts (first full weekend Spring, Summer, and Fall). We meet Saturday from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM.
Quarterly Mission Projects – We try to schedule at least one special Mission project each quarter. We try to find projects that are available for all ages when we can. We believe it is important to include our young people in our mission work. Some examples include: Serving meals at a homeless shelter, visiting nursing/senior facilities, packaging meals, Christmas caroling, Street Party of Hope cancer fundraiser, Friends of the Mississippi, and more.
LOVE INC (Love In the Name of Christ) – We provide “Baskets of Love” to newly re-located families by offering a basket of basic kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom supplies as needed. This project requires BOTH financial and time support.
Bounce Back Project – UFC supports this collaborative effort of Buffalo Allina Hospital and Buffalo/Hanover/Montrose School District in various ways including meetings, seminars, and community book reads.
